THE EXPERTS SAY …
Technology
boosts preschoolers' intelligence. Children with guided access to
technology scored an average of 12 points higher on IQ tests. In
testing of motor skills, preschoolers exposed to technology scored
twice as high. Pediatrics Medical Journal, June 2004
Technology
teamwork encourages both social and cognitive types of play. Computers
produce a more advanced cognitive type of play than other centers.
Technology encourages longer, more complex speech and the development
of fluency. Compared to more traditional activities, research shows
that technology elicits more social interactions than different
types of interaction .
